My Favorite Class
68
Well seeing as how I still am in school, I still have a favorite class. At my current school we take three classes per quarter; each class lasts two and half hours and meets twice a week. We have Fridays off to work on projects (since it's an art school), attend drawing sessions, and hold makeup classes.
My favorite class right now is Digital Cel Animation. It focuses on using Adobe Flash as an animation tool. I've been using Flash personally for quite some time now, and recently started using it professionally, so I really wanted to take this class to get some official education under my belt. I was able to sign up at the last minute when someone dropped out. Unfortunately, I know most of what the class teaches, but it's allowing me to do lots of fun exercises and finish the animation I tried to start over the summer. I enjoy the class because its my only class of the day and I don't have to pay attention to the lesson; it's my de-stressing class. Plus, it's the only class I have with a close friend, so we get to talk and hang out.
At my last school, my favorite class was probably theatre. I was in a very intense international college prep program, so theatre was the only relaxed class of the day (though it claimed much of my time after school let out). I had a great teacher and while I didn't really have many friends, acting allowed me to be someone else and give me a break from my introverted nature, and the manual labor involved in tech work kept me active until I joined weightlifting and track.
As an over-analytical, deep thinker, I really value classes that allow my thoughts to flow freely. Though I was trained to be able to focus, analyze, solve problems, and be well-rounded, it has encouraged me to remain emotionally suppressed and excessively logical to this day.
As my time at this school nears its end, I am finally trying to enjoy the time I have left before I venture off to continue my schooling at another educational venue. But regardless of how much I may want to sit back and enjoy things, becoming proficient at my craft, staying on Dean's List and being an over-achiever comes first. Enjoying class is just an occasional perk.

Wow! Animation sounds like a lot of fun. Very creative and lots of practical uses in this day and age. Thanks!

Animation? Sounds like fun! I wish I had the patients for computer graphics, much less animation.
